Caramel apples are an autumn essential but let’s face it: they can be so messy and complicated to make at home! Compared to the finnicky real thing, this sheet pan version is all fun and no fuss. It’s perfect for a kid’s party—everyone can choose their own toppings to sprinkle onto a little section of the pan for a personalized touch.

Ingredients

Toppings (optional): see Tip

Preparation
  1. Line Sheet Pan with Sheet Pan Liner. Slice apples into 14" slices. Arrange in a single layer on pan. Using a paper towel, pat dry as best you can.
  2. In Rectangular Steamer, whisk together cream and mix. Add caramels. Microwave uncovered on high in 30 sec intervals, stirring each time until melted, about 1 min 30 sec. Stir to combine.
  3. Pour caramel mixture over apple slices. Then, use a spatula or butter knife to carefully spread the caramel until apples are evenly coated. It’s OK if some of the caramel mixture falls off the apples: you can use the apples to scoop it up when serving from the pan.
  4. Add toppings, if desired. Serve immediately or, if you have time, chill in fridge 15–20 min.
Tips

Caramel apple toppings are endless! Here are some of our faves: Summer Berry Sweet Dip Mix, crushed cookies, candies—think candy canes, M&Ms®, or mini marshmallows—, chopped nuts or seeds, crushed pretzels, shredded coconut, sprinkles, and chocolate chips.

This treat is best served within a few hours of preparing; when kept in the fridge, the apple juices will mix in with the caramel and the apple slices will start to brown.
